Fics like Stepping Up To The Mantle

Satoshi was called back to the Alola region to finally take up his responsibilities as the regional champion - he was now going to be the face of Alola, their protector, their guide. It didn't matter that he ended up losing the Pokemon World Championship, or that he's been stagnant in Kanto for the past couple of months - he is now an adult in the eyes of Alolan laws, and the region still saw him as a powerful and worthy trainer. Little did he know that stepping up to the plate was going to forcibly kickstart the next chapter of his life. Nothing was ever quite normal for the Chosen One, after all. Though he is still yet to learn that he should reach out for help before it's too late. ~~~ What originally started as a "What if there was a Team Rainbow Rocket arc in the anime?" has turned into a self-indulgent future AU that I have been working on for months now.
