Fics like Afterlove

Spotting a seagull in the faraway distance, Thomas wonders what it would feel like to have wings. Would they come out of his back where his shoulder-blades lay bare? Would it hurt to move them, to fly? He thinks he had wings, once. Wings that believed in him, that carried him beyond where the Sun dips when nighttime comes. Wings that trusted him to steer them in the right direction, the right path that led to safety. Yes, Thomas had wings. Until he flew too close to freedom, where men and women with gentle smiles and silky words ripped them from his back and left them to wither with all their feathers underneath the debris of the Last City. Thomas had wings until he gave them up. Until he shot a bullet through their skeleton and watched them die in his arms. Hey guys! This fic is NOT abandoned or discontinued! Working on it/personal issues, but please don't fret! Yours truly WILL update as soon as possible. Thx <3
