Fics like Sway

September 7th- A blood transfusion is performed. Afterwards, Jack Seward sees to Arthur Holmwood's care. --- "The brave lover, I think, deserve another kiss, which he shall have presently,” Van Helsing declared without even turning. Jack and Arthur both paused their steps. Jack turned his face up to Arthur’s, to gauge whether Art needed his help crossing the room to Lucy. At first, he couldn’t reconcile the distance between them closing– was Art growing faint? Collapsing, perhaps? Warm lips pressed against his before he realized the purpose behind the motion. There was a clock in the asylum that Jack had once had occasion to repair. The violent outburst of a patient had seen a screw knocked loose, which had caught in the delicate gears and ceased all the routine motions within. That was the only comparison Jack had for the sudden halt of every function in his brain at the touch of Arthur’s lips. Across the room, a familiar clearing of a throat plucked away the screw and sent the gears turning once more. “Ahem. I had meant the young lady.”
