Fics like our own unsteady reflection

Dante choked, a little. “Holy shit,” he said out loud, and hugged Vergil back, a little awkwardly. “You really missed me, huh?” “You’re my twin brother,” said Vergil, softly. “Is it really so strange I’d hug you?” Was it? Vergil wasn’t a huggy guy. He tended to avoid being touched, which was fine, Dante knew how to respect people’s boundaries, but—was it really so strange that his own twin could stand to hold him? Why was he so surprised? Vergil had done this before. Right? (no no something’s not right here something isn’t right wake up Dante wake up) “Guess not,” Dante said, warmly, patting his twin brother on the back of the head.
