When Darcy hears about the Battle of Manhattan, the first thing she does is laugh for about ten minutes solid into her pillow. “You missed the Battle of Manhattan,” Jane says on the phone. “Oh my god, I can’t believe we’re friends.” (In which Darcy meets Bruce, and then they actually sort of figure out what they're doing, but not really, because this is Darcy and Bruce we're talking about here.)
