Fics like Paralytic States

Alexander Chen is the last person Steph wants to inform that she's leaving Haven Springs. Not just because he's her best friend, not just because it feels like leaving him in the lurch after he lost his brother, got shot in the head, and fell down a mineshaft; but because she knows he can see right through her and he'll stop her, just like his brother did. And maybe, just maybe, she wants to be stopped. Alex himself isn't just sticking around Haven because of inertia or injury. In the quiet of this remote mountain town, with the bar beneath him closed and every excuse to isolate, the emotions of others can't intrude on his thoughts anymore. For once in his life, he's able to think about what he wants to do. But he'll still need Steph's help to put the pieces of his — or her — new self together...
