Fics like Rumours of My Death have been Greatly Exaggerated

Steve had just watched Stark possibly die, then come back, then be dead again. Now a kid had shoved him out of the way and was sobbing over Stark... and calling him 'dad'?. Stark was a father? Steve was, understandably, very confused, but after a day battling mutant aliens who had poured out of a wormhole in the sky to take over the Earth, he should have learnt to expect the unexpected. And this was certainly very unexpected. No, but seriously... Stark was a father? Or: the end of the Battle of New York with Biodad Tony and a distraught Peter who thought he had just watched his dad die.
