Fics like Chivalry Is Not Dead (It Just Isn't Required Anymore)
Pete is a woman in the military. Sometimes, that fact alone warrants typical male attitudes towards women in a male-dominated field. That's just how it is for a woman in a man's world. Other women are aware of this too. Ice, however (and consequently, many other men), is not. (Or: a strange woman comes up to Pete while she, Ice, Slider, and Goose are at the grocery store, pretending to know her when they all know she doesn't. Pete is the only one to act accordingly. Things spiral from there.)
