Life as Gamzee Makara isn't exactly the happiest one. It's certainly not the worst, but- it's not great. It doesn't help that they're wholly unaccustomed to the merciless brutality of the Alternian lifestyle, too used to the idyllic peace of a suburban Earth town. Most trolls are hardened by their harsh circumstances. Violence is natural to them, because they have never known anything else. Gamzee has. They know the world can be better - have lived in a world where things are better - and that makes it difficult to cope. And as if that weren't enough already, the imminent Doom of the timeline looms over their head - their very existence threatens the lives of everyone they have ever known. If they don't keep things the same, their timeline will diverge from the Alpha and everyone will die. And they will have no one to blame but themself. No matter how desperately they wish to, they can't save everyone. It's all that Gamzee can do to preserve the livelihoods of the few who are destined to survive.
