Fics like the crystalline knowledge of you

Robin’s eyes glisten with tears; those already shed create silver tracks on her cheeks that shimmer in a way that makes Nancy want to take Robin in her arms for the rest of eternity, to hold her until the world ends or else swallows them whole. Her lower lip trembles as she gazes down at Nancy like she’s begging, pleading with her to make it stop, make it go away, make it better. Nancy brings her hands up slowly. Gives Robin the chance to pull away, if that’s what she needs. But Robin leans into her touch the second Nancy’s palms cup her face, desperate and in need of comfort. It makes Nancy want to sob herself. How dare they do this to you, she thinks. My beautiful, genius girl. How dare they make you feel small.
