Fics like O₂ be cared for

“Are you okay?” Tango asks. “You’ve been acting strange since we got up this morning.” “I'm a canary,” Jimmy tells Tango, blurting out the answer like it burns his tongue. “I'm cursed and I cause disasters wherever I go.” Tango raises an eyebrow. “...Because you're a canary?” Jimmy feels like Tango isn't taking this seriously. “Yes! Because I'm a canary! I'm an omen of death! You know, canary in a coal mine, they die and there's something dangerous! And I cause it because I'm cursed to be the canary!” Tango snorts. “I don't think that's true.” Jimmy stares at Tango in surprise. “It is true!” Tango frowns slightly. “...When we're done with the game, I have someone I think you should meet.” Or: Jimmy is a canary. He has a soulmate who knows a guy that can take care of canaries quite well. After all, you don't become known for mining if you don't have some treasures from your past.
