Steve has nightmares about Lover's Lake, he knows he's falling off the edge. When everyone finds out, he knows he's done for. He’s alone by the pool, sun drenched. Everything is silent, except the buzzing of flies, Steve doesn’t know where that’s coming from, and the tick of the record player skipping even though he shouldn’t be able to hear that from here. Then both of those noises stop and he realises he didn’t know what silence was before that, how much the low background sound was filling up.
