Fics like It's looking like a limb torn off

He was never much for psychology, but he tells himself his unwillingness to desert Herbert, his obsession with being nearby to keep him safe, is simple transference and loss of meaningful direction in life. With Meg gone, he’s projected all his emotional attachments and need for companionship to Herbert. That’s all. That’s all. He lays boneless on his narrow cot after eight straight hours of meatball surgery, staring at the knobby line of Herbert’s spine as he peels off a gore-soaked shirt. He has an urge to cross the few feet between them and pick up the basin of water, to take the rag Herbert is reaching for himself and dab away the sweat and dirt and blood from his partner and feel the skin of someone living. --------------------------- Every choice Dan makes with Herbert West feels like the brink of no return-and when you step off of a cliff it's only a matter of time before you reach the bottom. Canon divergent from Bride of Reanimator starting after Peru (no building of the bride.) All sexual content at the very end, for those who wish to skip.
