Fics like is this the real life? is this just fantasy?

The year is 1985. Steve Harrington is forced by his asshole dad to get a job at Scoops Ahoy, an ice cream parlor at the new mall, Starcourt, in Hawkins. Over the years, Steve hasn’t quite found the real him—he has only done what others deemed fun, cool, popular. The year is 1985. Eddie Munson wants to have a normal summer and scoop some ice cream for a couple extra bucks. He has never cared what others think about him, not since he turned 14, anyways. He is loud, obnoxious, and may even come off as a little rude. The year is 1985. The unlikely friendship of Steve and Eddie is about to transform into something much more than that as they crack secret spy codes, break into Russian bases and discover things about each other they wish they had known earlier. The year is 1985—the year of Steve and Eddie.
