Fics like Tell Me What Hurts More (is it remembering or forgetting)

After a devastating accident claims the life of his boyfriend and ostracizes him from the family he’d come to call his own, Jimin is lured back home by a mysterious call from the caretaker of his childhood town. Drawn to the Island he once ran desperately from, Jimin finds new life amongst the eclectic group of people who slowly infiltrate his world and pull him out of the shell he'd erected to protect himself. While his past haunts him in ghostly oppressive ways, Jimin also finds himself overwhelmed by the resurfacing of old feelings for his first love, Taehyung, despite the tumultuous and strained relationship they have now. As Jimin slowly opens up more and more, and finds happiness in his childhood home surrounded by new friends and opportunity, so comes the long secrets of the past to ruin him once more. Worst of all is the singular truth constantly lurking in the back of his mind: He may have run far and wide from Kim Taehyung nearly eight years previous. But he never stopped loving him.
