Fics like In the Near Future

He’s pretty sure that’s when he reaches his breaking point. Everything that’s happened in the past however many days rushed into his brain like a shock of electricity. He feels his breath get shakier as he lowers himself down. A hand cards through the profoundly greasy hair and pulls him in. He’s a little lost in thought as this happens so he just goes with it. He feels a bit weightless, as though he’s in the bathtub, sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, all slightly out of reach. It’s a freefall. He’s falling. God knows when he’ll fucking land. - or: Witness me toss lab employee/007 Steve precariously into the heart of Hawkins as various townspeople attempt to catch him.
