Fics like missed connections

“When the both of you were young, you guys were inseparable. Like souls tethered to one another, you know? And a lot of things happened, but you and Katsuki found each other again. It’s something greater than friendship, than love. Than life itself.” Izuku feels a heaviness in his chest weighing him down, pulling his consciousness with its gravity. Like every part of him—skin, flesh, bone, muscle, scar tissue—is submerging underground. He wants so badly to believe Masaru’s words. Kacchan and him have gone through the unimaginable together, and it has to count for something. But does Izuku tug at Kacchan’s heartlines too, the way Kacchan does for him? Does all the air seep out of the room when Izuku walks in, does every touch sear like a brand, the way Kacchan does for him? Deku and I could be the last two people on earth and we still wouldn’t date each other. Izuku thought he'd gotten over his feelings for Kacchan. That is, until, he starts bumping into Kacchan and his hook-ups.
