Fics like got me feeling blue (as my lips and fingertips)

“I understand having a hard time. You know that. I’m never going to be mad at you for struggling. I just don’t like to see you making it worse.” I shake my head to clear away the speech I’m already building to. Nick is too drunk for it right now, and I don’t know what good it could even do at his most sober. Nick doesn’t cope well with emotions. I know this. He knows this. We’ve been talking about it in circles for months now. Uni's a lot harder than Nick anticipated. Assignments. Rugby. Being away from his boyfriend. Coming out to his new flatmates. For years, he's been a shoulder to cry on and a sympathetic ear, but if he's going to get through this next phase of his life, he's going to have to learn to accept the the help he's so used to giving.
