It's the year 2100 and the S.D.P.P. (Submissive and Dominants Placing Program) has existed for over 200 years. Initially made into law in the 1890s, the program was created to bring order to a rapidly-growing society. When each citizen turns 18, they are labeled as a submissive or a dominant. From there, they enter a complex world of specialized education and finishing schools, which culminates in a matching process where they are sorted into marriages, pairing each dominant with a submissive. Sebastian Alcaraz was labeled as a submissive on his eighteenth birthday, when he took the legally-required diagnostic exam down at the testing center. Most recently, however, he's graduated from Warnsley's School for Submissives, a two-year finishing program that caters to the children of the wealthy, preparing them to be matched with elite dominants. After being matched with Grayson Vondarette, the dreamy heir to the Vondarette fortune, his life should be idyllic. But Sebastian is far from a perfect submissive. He's out of place in the world of the wealthy, having gone to Warnsley's as a part of their equity program, and he chafes against the control of a dominant. Grayson, however, is determined to tame him.
