Fics like Spiderman Stands Down (and the consequences of taking him for granted)

Peter had been Spider-Man for over half a decade and if he was being honest, he was done with people's shit. He had put all his energy and passion into a job that put him in danger every day he did it. So, he was not having it when people started chasing him out with pitchforks. So he quit. Maybe that would lead the public into realising their mistakes. But, what he did know, was that he was worth more than how they treated him. Or: Peter is sick of how New York treats him after so long protecting them (and when he's gone New York realises how much they may have fucked up)
