Fics like find me somebody to love

Steve arrives at Max’s trailer in record time, breaking nearly every driving rule in the book on the journey. The lights are on despite it being past midnight, and Steve can hear some loud crashing sounds even from where he’s standing outside. “Fuck it,” Steve says, deciding he better go in. He runs into the trailer at once, bat in hand, thanking whoever left the door unlocked. He’s taken aback at the scene. Max is kneeling on the ground, pleading with her mother to calm down. There’s shattered glass everywhere on the floor, broken beer bottles lined up against the walls. Max is barefoot, only wearing thin pyjamas, and is slightly shaking. The whole room stinks of alcohol. Or: 5 times Steve cared for someone + 1 time someone took care of him.
