Fics like if the flame burns low

“What is it?” “I’ll tell you on the way.” Just once, Leonardo would like to say no. He would like to say Tell me now or you won’t have me, I won’t come, I won’t help, even though you never asked for my help, because you’ve never asked for help in your life. He thinks about it. It’s a mark of how untenable that position would be, that he can’t decide how Primo — predictable-unpredictable Primo, hurricane Primo — would react. Maybe he’d shoot him in the head. Maybe he’d push him from a high place and leave him to gasp in breaths until his punctured lungs collapsed. Maybe he’d do nothing at all. Leonardo sighs, draws a hand over his face. “Let me get dressed, at least. I’m not letting you drive me halfway across Calabria in my pyjamas.” “I’ll be in the car.”
