Fics like Saving Face and Taking Blame

“I killed him.” With shaking a hand, Tim pointed at the man breathing unsteadily on the ground. The pool of blood beneath his head was growing larger. “I hit him too hard, I didn’t mean to, it was an accident!” He was rambling, he knew, but this was bad. “What?” Jason sounded genuinely perplexed, but also angry. Though, Tim supposed in his half-dazed mind, Jason always sounded vaguely angry. “What the fuck are you talking about, Replacement?” “Bruce,” Tim gasped out. “He’s— he’s gonna hate me. I’m sorry, I’m sorry—” “Hey!” Jason’s sharp bark snapped Tim back to himself. He was shaking, but Jason’s hand was steady on his shoulder. “Baby bird. Look at me.” “I killed him!” Tim jerked away from Jason, but the older man held him firmly. “I don’t wanna get kicked out, I can’t go through that again—” Jason didn’t let him finish. With a swing of his arm and a deafening gunshot, Jason buried a bullet in the man’s head. “There,” he said, shrugging. “You didn’t kill him. I did.” Tim was hyperventilating.
