Fics like Why Did You Save Me?

I distort the show’s narrative to fit this story. It starts in the episode where Kwan Ha asks the Master Chief why he saved her. Starts when he says, “I don’t know.” Except there is no Kwan Ha, the same question comes from the OC, Doctor Maureen Jasperson, a neuroanatomist new to the Spartan program. She has something that Doctor Halsey wants. She found something she wasn’t supposed to find. Cortana is very much existing in the Master Chief’s brain but not with the same control as the show, again, I deviate the storyline to reflect a Cortana that is still manually controlled by John-117. The Master Chief was supposed to eliminate her. He doesn’t know why on a conscious level that he violated a direct order and became instantly compromised. His very DNA became electric at meeting the new doctor. He’s going to learn why he saved her as they run for their lives.
