Fics like Anyway the Wind Blows

As a child, he swore to kill all demons. Sitting in that damned shrine, surrounded by the scent of blood, fear, and death while clutching the memory of his friend that would never feel the sun again, Shoto promised the faintly glowing blade clutched within his small hands that he would kill them all. He didn’t care how long it would take, or how much of himself he would have to sacrifice, he was going to kill every damn demon that ever existed. He was determined to keep his promise, to fulfill his goal the gods granted him a second chance to pursue. But as he looked at the child in front of him, the child that never should have existed, he couldn't force himself to bring down his raised knife. He couldn't force himself to kill them.
