Fics like to court a merman

“Would you rather I come up there, instead? Are you curious about this? About me?” Their eyes meet, and Renjun can’t help but blush at being caught in the act of staring. Isn’t it natural to be curious about a creature you thought only existed in fairytales? Wouldn’t it be weirder not to be curious? Renjun studies marine biology. If you think of it that way, his interest in Jaemin’s body is purely academic. “A little,” he admits. (On a quiet summer day, Renjun finds out quite abruptly that mermen are real. And that he might be attracted to one of them in particular. That merman might also be trying to marry him, but that's a separate issue for now.)
