Fics like "That's just how he is." | Dr Devorak and his Apprentice (pre-route) - Part 1

Magic had nothing new for me and my shop was doing well. So when whispers of a deadly disease caused Doctor Julian Devorak, a man I highly admired, to put out a request for an apprentice, I jumped at the chance. I don't know what I expected from the doctor or my apprenticeship, but it certainly wasn't this. *** This is my pre-route headcanon of how the MC became Julian's apprentice, and the start of their relationship. More info in the series description. Written from the first person POV of the apprentice, whose gender isn't referenced, so you're free to add that flavour yourself. *** Also I'm rubbish at naming my stories, I'm sorry. .
