Fics like Dance With Me

A modern Dirty Dancing AU. Yuuri thinks the summer holiday to a beach resort will be boring, filled with fake laughter and feeble attempts at pretending the last few years of illness and stress hasn't affected him and his family. Everything changes, however, when Yuuri dances with one of the resort instructors; Viktor is talented and mesmerising but his strained relationship with the resort owner, Yakov, means that he's one misstep away from being fired. When Viktor's dance partner cannot commit to an important dance show, Yuuri offers his assistance despite knowing that his family, if they ever found out, would forbid it. After all, dance almost killed him in the past. But the siren's call to dance again is too strong, and with Viktor's tutelage and attention, Yuuri begins to feel the holiday won't be a complete waste of time. Knowing his own bad luck, though, Yuuri is just waiting for something to go catastrophically wrong.
