Fics like if you go I'm going, so jump and I'm jumping

Fig leans forward, hands holding onto the branch underneath her, knuckles white as she holds herself from falling as she presses forward, leaning out as far as she can. She looks like a bird poised on the precipice before jumping into flight. Face lifted up to the sky, eyes scanning the world below her. Sometimes, when the world feels like it’s too small for him, like everything is too cramped and tight and there’s nowhere for Gorgug to fit, he climbs up here. He just never thought Fig would feel that way, too. “Do you come up here a lot?” “Sometimes,” Gorgug admits with a shrug, “it helps. Sometimes it feels like I don’t fit in my own skin, and I just want to feel-” “Small,” Fig finishes, thoughtful. She glances over at him, a narrow line furrowed in the space between her eyebrows. Gratitude and understanding lift in Gorgug’s chest, a bird soaring into flight, wings beating against the wind. “Yeah.” Sometimes he thinks Fig understands him better than anyone else does. [five times Fig and Gorgug talk on a roof top + one time they don’t]
