“I thought we were past this,” Hen murmured, chin resting in her hand, elbows on her knees. “I know everything has gone to shit lately, and he’s taken more risks, but I thought he’d moved past his reckless days.” “He wasn’t being reckless.” They turned toward the doors of the ER waiting room to see Eddie having just bustled in, a bit breathless. “Eddie-“ “No, no, guys, I know I wasn’t there and I don’t exactly have the room to comment but… Buck isn’t reckless, alright? He’s smart. He knows the risks that he takes, and if he made a decision, he weighed it. Problem is, he weighs the remote chance of anyone else’s survival against his own.” The team exchanged glances. “You’re saying he doesn’t value his life,” Hen whispered. Or, Buck gets hurt on the job. Cue the introspection for both him and Eddie.
