Fics like the kids aren't alright (they're dumb as hell)

"It was a well known and utterly indisputable truth that Professor Bonnet was completely and wholly smitten by his husband. It was a bit of a running joke around the university—there were two reliable ways to distract the professor: say something egregiously wrong about 18th century dining etiquette, or ask about his husband." Stede and Ed are happily married college professors, and Stede takes every opportunity to gush about his relationship. However, due to one student's misunderstanding, most of the college now believes that he is cheating on his sweetheart of a husband with the notorious Professor Blackbeard. Suffice to say, they aren't thrilled about the idea.
