In his seven years as a Dom, Castiel had only had a submissive safeword with him once, and that was just because their ropes had been a little too tight and they’d wanted them loosened. Castiel prided himself on being careful, on being attentive. And he was especially careful and especially attentive when it came to Dean. He knew most of Dean’s triggers. Or at least, he thought he did. But God help him, he hadn’t been aware of Dean’s trauma surrounding gags, and he wasn’t lucky enough to learn about it before he trampled all over it.
