Fics like A Tree Touches the Sky

Prince Aleksandr of Arcardia knows he got lucky when he married Quinhart Starfall, the Sun-King of Scorin, as part of the treaty that ended the war between their countries. A year into their marriage, he has a husband who loves him, a stepson who adores him, and precisely no assassinations attempts. Compared to that, trying to make it through the hectic preparations for the equinox festival seems like a small price to pay for happiness. Then word comes from the northern border that Prince Matalith Greentide has emerged from an enchanted forest, two years after he was thought killed in a daring raid that turned the tide of the war. The return of the moon's paladin and his company is a cause for national celebration. There's one small problem for Alek, though: before his apparent demise, Matalith was Quin's first husband.
