Fics like Bundled Into A Collective

When he hears Cecil start talking about the condos on air, it feels like a sign. There isn’t a radio anywhere in sight, but there doesn’t need to be one now that City Council has installed collapsable antennas on every citizen’s phone that pick up Cecil’s show. The citizens in line look at him as Cecil chatters about when the right time to move in together is, and he blushes at the attention. Still, he can’t help smiling at his ridiculously nervous boyfriend, so he pulls out his phone and dials Cecil, knowing he’ll pick up even in the middle of a broadcast. He expects Cecil to put on some pre-recorded bit, not broadcast their phone call to the whole city, but compromises are made in a relationship. “Carlos?” Cecil questions excitedly. “Yes, scientifically speaking, that is who I am,” he says as confidently as he can muster with everyone around him either trampling over each other to get a look at a condo or staying in line, avoiding looking at Carlos to pretend they aren’t listening in on the conversation.
