Merlin stared at him for several seconds. “That actually explains a lot.” “What is that supposed to mean?!” “Nothing! Nothing! “I’ll have you know that every man to become a knight of Camelot has to pass even more rigorous challenges! They all serve with honor!” Arthur was practically breathing her air at this point as she snorted. “Are you joking? Some of the knights here spend half of their shift sleeping.” Merlin didn’t really want to get into the details of how she knew that. “They do not-” “I’ll make a bet with you,” Merlin paused, waiting for Arthur to calm down, “-if I can prove that half of your knights are absolutely worthless, you will give Lancelot a chance.” "Fine." Arthur was going to regret this. Merwaine fic. Merlin's a girl/secret heir to Daobeth, kingdom of magic.
