Fics like Yukimi or the art of adopting random kids (who turn out to be criminals)

Having children surely is the easy part, raising them takes a lot more courage. Yukimi knew it'd be challenging for her, for them—lovers on the run from a past bound to catch up to them no matter what. She remembers praying 'not today, tomorrow is fine, just give us that day so we can build something a bit stronger'. Ah, how hopeful she was back then, that youthful righteousness she doesn't miss as much as expected. If anything, she's grown alongside the bathhouse and children running on wet tiles, laughter and bright smiles. They're still there, her children. She loves them, or rather the ones she watched discover the world, wide eyed with curious hands. Some days, the fourth one is a bonus she wasn't asking for.
