Fics like Secondhand Time

A year has passed since Ryan Pilkington's death. Those members of the OCG still remaining in the city were swiftly arrested by AC-12, after which Ted Hastings discreetly retired. Jo and Kate were interviewed, but neither was ever charged. After she lured Kate to the lorry park, Jo had assumed that her life would be over, one way or the other. Instead, life goes on: Jo is promoted to lead MIT, and she and Kate continue their successful professional partnership and friendship. The worst has already happened, and they're living on secondhand time. But then everything changes: Jo and Kate are handpicked to go undercover together as a lesbian couple to investigate two murders in a planned community. Everything is under control for now, but secrets can't stay secret forever.
