Fics like wishing on a star balloon

He’s startled to notice someone's tied a note to the curling string of the deflated balloon. When he unrolls it carefully, the letters are shaky and carefully printed in crayon, clearly written by a child. hi my name is jungkook i am 5 years old i am in first grade and i want you to be my friend. the kids at school do not want to be my friend. they do not like me because i am small and annoying but i am sad when i am alone and do not have a friend. i try to wish on a star but maybe the star is so far away it did not hear me so i will send this balloon to fly to the star. please be my friend and like me so i will not be sad. Namjoon’s hand is clutching tightly at the chest of his faded t-shirt, and though he likes to think he’s gone a long way from the overly sensitive teenager who cried at every sad puppy commercial, he’s at the very least intensely endeared right now. Okay, maybe his heart is twisting and squeezing in his chest. And fine, there may be tears prickling in his eyes, but that’s valid, because why the hell are first graders being mean enough to this kid for him to call himself annoying?
