Fics like Take Your Chances (And Roll The Dice!)

Cuphead and Mugman had just broken Elder Kettle's number one rule, and now they owed the Devil their souls. They had begged on their hands and knees for an exception to be made, asked if there was anything they could do to earn back their souls. Only by a small mercy on the part of the Casino's sleazy manager, the boys have one week to collect the owed contracts from debtors around the Inkwell Isles. Now that his words and stories are proven true, Cuphead and Mugman can not help but notice the similarities shared between their unfortunate circumstances, and the bedtime stories Kettle told them of a time when he too owed the Devil his soul. But if every word is true, when they return to the Casino, what would happen to them? Would they be free to escape, just like him, or would they disappear, just as his friend did all those years ago?
