Fics like The Lion's Roar

Jake park is roughing it out on Great Bear Island, the quiet apocalypse hits and changes his entire world. Not that it changed much, but it became so much more dangerous. Laurie was on a plane to observe the transport of her brother to a high security facility located in Blackrock on Great Bear Island, and Michael escapes said transport due to the quiet apocalypse. The Aurora changes how their entire world works. They will have to survive against the cold and the odds, along with many other locals left on the island decimated by quakes and neglect from the mainland. [Title inspired by the title of the song "The Lion's Roar" by the First Aid Kit, which also plays in the intro of each episode of the long dark, which I replayed the first two episodes twice to have an idea of where I wanted the characters.... anyways it fits the Jayers vibes imo as well -- https://open.spotify.com/track/7kiB2HEyVrW9EdpVeQqZSY?si=0675249284a34acf]
