Fics like The Lovecraftean Lovers of the Scottish Countryside

There is a café down at the end of the road in a little town in the Scottish countryside, a meandering hour from the coast, that does not seem like much from the outside. The building itself is an old one, the lights and bright, cheery colors from inside not quite managing to disguise its age. The owners are...peculiar. English. Each a bit frightening, in their own way, on first glance. But the café is never empty. The chill of the Scottish winds never manages to breach the doors. Not a single patron ever feels the sting of melancholy, even if they nurse a cuppa alone. They say the place is a cure for loneliness. They say if you tell the one with the scars about your nightmares, he'll take them from you. And it certainly helps, they say, that the tea is never cold and the cakes are the best in the county. All that, and you can forgive the other kinds of stories.
