It's not like the unhappiness is a new thing, hell no. He's had more shit than most people can even imagine piled up on him in a single week, and that's an average week. This is different though. If he's honest with himself, it started a few years back- after Lisa. He's lonely, though he'd never admit it to anyone. A life of hunting demons and random hookups with strangers in bar bathrooms is not the life he envisioned for himself. He's always wanted more for himself - though never actually considered going after it; he wants a house and a wife and a couple of kids he can teach to read, and write and play baseball and never ever let anywhere near anything even minutely supernatural.
