Fics like last ones out

Sydney pulled himself up until he was sitting, leaning his head on Jedidiah’s shoulder. He felt him stiffen under his touch, then relax. A flower came loose from his boutonniere, a viscaria. As he twirled it in his fingers, a new song played from within the school, different enough from all the others to catch his attention. This one was a languid instrumental tune, and he could imagine people inside the gym pulling their partners, if they had partners, in for an awkward slow dance. He put the viscaria flower into the pocket of his cardigan. “Dance with me?” At age seventeen, Sydney and Jedidiah go to prom together.
