Fics like dead to me

Tommy remembers a time where he idolized the heroes on the screens. He remembers a time where his breath would fog up the glass on Christmas morning as he stared at a window with toys. Heroes monetized. Tommy hadn't thought much about it when he was little, when he had stars in his eyes with the hope that he'd crawl his way out of the slums. It would've been better if Tommy had never existed in the first place. Freefall was dead. He should stop falling back on those habits. -- "Hello, welcome to Niki's. How can I help you?" Tommy greeted with a faux cheeriness that he knew was a remnant to Freefall. It wasn't like Nightstalker with his standoffish extreme tendencies. However, it would ensure that the public would never realize that Freefall was alive. Freefall was dead. == or, the past always catches up to you.
