Fics like August 10. Wrote Nothing.

It’s 1975. The Vietnam War has just ended, Watergate is still the biggest story on nightly news, and Janice has just published her first novel. It’s a hit. Her publishers, delighted, have signed her for a second. Raised glasses all around. Except the problem is that Janice wrote her entire first book drunk. Which she isn’t anymore. Drunk, that is. Six months sober. She keeps the chip in her purse. And it seems like any talent she might have had for writing has vanished with the booze. It’s her mom who suggests she heads on up to her late grandpa’s old place on Pelican Island, a tiny community just a few hours north of Seattle. It’s nice. And quiet. Maybe the kind of place where she might be able to put pen to paper again. But the Island, it turns out, is haunted. Like for real, no joke haunted. Cursed. Ghosts and ghouls and maybe something worse. Luckily another struggling writer is looking to do just about anything to keep his mind off his poetry, his crab filled beach shack, and the war memories that won’t let him sleep. Including ghost hunting
