Fics like In Threes

“You’re an alchemist. Winry said.” He blinks. The kid does not. No hello is forthcoming. Neither is context. Roy finds his eyes searching for the toy that must be broken and resigns himself to his new job with a sigh. It’s practise at least. He won’t have to worry about forgetting how to draw a circle. “Yeah,” he replies. - After the Flame Alchemist loses two limbs in an 'accident' not long into the conflict in Ishval, he ends up in the care of an automail engineer in Resembool. Unfortunately for Roy, it's not long before the Rockbells' daughter lets slip his secret to two bothersome brothers with a borderline obsessive interest in alchemy. He isn't a teacher and he most certainly is not a parent, but when tragedy strikes the sheep farming town, he finds that fate doesn't often leave a choice.
