John kisses Paul in his kitchen one day, and feels awful about it shortly thereafter. But Paul is a tough habit to kick – things end up taking an interesting turn. Nervously, Paul asks, “You haven’t been thinking about it?” The simmering, guilty unease following him around, the sleepless nights; it’s probably not quite the same as what Paul’s referring to. He probably means something closer to the dreams he’s been having, the hot flashes of memory and the lurid fantasies that well up to distract him when he needs it least. Well, it doesn’t matter what he means, either way. John is intimately familiar with the full range of thoughts on Paul.
