Fics like the song of a snuffed out spark

Victoria's third Día de los Muertos on the other side is a pleasant and uneventful night. Dropping off family friend Ceci's offerings and stumbling upon her friend with a tragic past is unfortunate, not life-changing. Héctor's just reimbursing Ceci for a Frida Kahlo costume he misplaced. Sure, dying at twenty one and having no foto on any ofrenda is sad, but at least her family isn't like that. Things get complicated when it is accidentally revealed that 'Ceci's tragic friend Héctor' and 'her good for nothing abuelo' may, in fact, be the same person. . Or: Ceci López accidentally reunites grandfather and granddaughter thirty-two years early and Victoria won't rest until she has uncovered the truth of her family's greatest tragedy, even if she has to talk to Mamá Imelda about that músico to get there.
