Fics like Those Fortunate Ones

It doesn't play out that differently. Mad with grief and drunk on power, the Villain's dark wings rise over Paris. Desperate, the Guardian gambles everything on the girl from the crosswalk and the boy who helped him up. The Boy and the Girl are handed Ultimate Power, and someone needs to protect their city. It doesn't play out that differently. Except... Except this Hawkmoth has lines he won't cross, people he's not willing to hurt, and has put failsafes in place should his obsession consume him. Except this Fu doesn't know that the heroes he's chosen are already deeply connected, and never going to keep secrets from each other. Except this is a story of Marinette and Adrien and Chloe, and none of them very good at the whole "rules" thing, and what is two in other worlds will always, always be three here. It doesn't play out that differently. Except when it does.
