Fics like I try to keep it silent (but you can read my mind)

It’s the sixth week after TK comes home–to their home–when he finally cracks. He’s been doing much better lately. His breathing treatments are further apart and the doctors say it won’t be long before he can stop them entirely. He doesn’t get winded going for a walk to the little corner store with the amazing deli twice a week. He’s even able to do a passable weight lifting routine in the living room (nothing like his usual routine from when he was an active firefighter, but still it’s an accomplishment). His doctor has even cleared him for light duty, his first shift of which is Monday. But tonight is Friday, and TK is humming with an energy that has been making its presence known more explicitly with each passing day.
